XBOX 360 Repair Again

Yes again my Xbox 360 Elite is going in for repair again, but this time it is a graphical problem, not an overheating issue. I'm a little p****d off actually. You would have thought they could have made sure that it wouldn't happen again to someone that has had there Xbox 360 repaired or replaced before (Mine being the latter). To think my brother has one of the first Xbox 360's, and the only problem he has ever had is a dodgy DVD-Rom drive. He's just one of the lucky few i suppose. You know I sometimes wonder if I was better off buying a new PC instead. I'd just finished playing Bioshock again as well.

Just a quick update: Got replacement Xbox console. And yes it does work.

Book Signing

If anyone is interested.  My niece is having a book signing event tomorrow at Thorntree Primary School, Middlesbrough at 3.15pm, for a book she has written called Billy Jones: A Change in Time.  The school, has 50 copies of it to sell.  So if you want a copy of the book. (Some of my niece's friends might).  But if you want a copy then you should get there quick before they sell out.  The book is listed on websites such as Amazon, Whsmiths and Waterstones as well.

September 6th (The Wedding)

Yeah my brother got married at Middlesbrough Registry Office this morning between 10 - 10.45am.  Too be honest with you I was bored, so after the wedding ceremony I came home.  He picked a great day to get married, I mean it rained most of the morning.  It was that heavy that I got drenched coming out of the house and into the taxi.  Well I hope they have a wonderful life together.  My brother deserves a bit of luck.  Anyway enough of the wedding.  My other brother and his partner are moving into their new house soon.  So I say good luck to them as well.

XBOX 360 Knackered

My XBox 360 Elite broke down on me today.  It's weird my brother and I played FIFA 08 together on it, we played two games and then we quit, the console was fine.  I then switched off the console and made lunch.  I came back to play GTA IV.  It was fine for five minutes then disaster struck - two flashing red lights on the left quadrant (which means it is overheating.  The fans were working overtime as well).  I checked the XBOX website for any tips to get it working again, none worked so I phoned the Microsoft support number.  I have to wait till tomorrow, turn it on and check if it is working, if it does not work then they will book it in for repair.  I've nearly finished GTA IV as well.

Just a quick update. I was sent a replacement back on the 16/17th of August, and so far it is still working (fingers crossed it stays that way for some time).

FIFA 08 & the quitters

I presume that some of the people who read this blog have at some stage played a FIFA game.  I like playing FIFA online, I think it is great, but I don't like it when a player your playing quits just because they are losing.  You get awarded a 3-0 win if that happens, so I don't see the point in quitting just because your losing.

Stop quitting just because your losing!!!!

Sunday

Today is Sunday.  I didn't get up until 11.45am.  All I have done today is play GTA IV on the 360.  The game just gets better and better as you progress.  Anyway enough of that.  It's Bungie day tomorrow, so I will try and download the free stuff coming are way tomorrow.  As we all know from my last post, it was my Birthday last week.  I turned 33.  That is why the title has changed on the blog.  This week has flown by.  We had a BBQ on Thursday, just 7 of us.  It was good, the weather was good, it never rained, and we enjoyed it.  There is nothing else to say about last week except that a few of my favourite TV shows have finished so I now have to wait for the new series to start,  but at least the football is coming back on soon, so I am pleased about that.  There is nothing else really so I will sign off!

It's my Birthday!

Another year of my age has passed, and now I am 33, where have the years gone?? It was not long ago that I was going to school and hanging outside with my friends.

Saturday

Yeah it's Saturday, and to be honest, it's boring.  My next door neighbours are having a BBQ/Party in the garden.  The weather is taking a turn for the worst.  So you never know it might be a washout.  My brother on the 6th September is getting Married.  Good luck to him, he is going to need it!  The Euro Final is tomorrow.  I think Germany will win it again!  I'm just waiting now for Doctor Who to start.  That will be the only thing that I will be watching today.  Has anyone downloaded Firefox 3 yet?  I have and I thing it is a very good browser, definitely better than Internet Explorer!

Firefox 3 Download Day

I downloaded Firefox 3 yesterday as part of the Firefox 3 download day, which you can download from the button on the right hand side of this blog. I have to say that I like it, it's fast, secure, and most of my add-ons work fine. I hope that this version of Firefox will be like this in the near future, because I would say that this is the best version yet!

3 Minutes Stoppage Time

Have you noticed that at the end of every Euro 2008 game there has been 3 minutes of stoppage time.  It's either coincidence or the 4th official has been ordered by UEFA bigwigs that all games have to end with 3 minutes stoppage time or more.

I'm Bored

Yep I am bored.  I'm waiting for the football to kick off between Czech Republic and Portugal, as well the game later which is between Switzerland and Turkey.  To relieve the boredom I have been playing FIFA 08, but it hasn't really helped, so now I am just waiting for the matches to start.

Writing with Windows Live Writer

I thought I would try writing a post with Windows Live Writer just to see if it would do what it says it would do on another blog, which I have to say so far it is doing it, so I am pleased about this.

Manchester United

You have probably noticed by the picture on the right, that I am a Manchester United supporter. I think this is his best team so far and that Ryan Giggs still has a few years left before he retires, and I hope that the team will continue to win more trophies in the future.
