Manchester United 1–6 Man City

I had to write about this.

I sat down before the match, hoping for a great game of football.  Instead what I got was a match, in the 1st half at least – of Manchester City getting a goal, that was the score at half-time.  I thought, maybe in the 2nd half, Manchester United can get something out of this like a draw maybe.  Well to my surprise, Manchester United came out in the 2nd half playing worse than the 1st half.  There was no fight in the team.  Johnny Evans getting sent off didn’t help, but Manchester United made it worse by conceding another 5 goals in the game.  I don’t blame Johnny Evans for getting sent off.  I blame all the team, it was a terrible performance, one of the worst I have seen Manchester United play.

Sir Alex Ferguson would have been fuming in the dressing room.  Probably giving everyone a good rollicking. Manchester United play Aldershot in the Carling Cup on Tuesday.  I hope he puts out a team that will win convincingly and again against Everton on Saturday in the Barclays Premier League, and prove to everyone that Manchester United can still win a trophy this season.

Manchester United have had heavy defeats before, and still won silverware, but this game seemed different, there was no fight back in the team.  Could this spell be the end of Manchester United’s dominance, or is it just a blip on the horizon.  We will only know at the end of this season.  I myself am hoping for a Manchester United 20th league title.  SO COME ON UNITED YOU CAN DO IT.

I had to post this on here. My 14 year old Niece drew this, and I thought it was brilliant, so I decided to scan it and post it online wherever I could. She calls it "Beauty is only skin deep!"

Games Old & New

Just Recently I have bought a few games for a good cheap price, and also borrowed some old ones as well.  The reason why I borrowed some old games was because these ones I have played before but only had 1 or 2 achievements with them, so I thought I would try to get more achievements with them.  The games I bought were just cheap, and were worth the price.  Anyway here is the list of games.

Bought

Portal 2 (Since this game was announced I have always wanted it, I also own Portal 1) Price: £23.99

Dead Space 2 (Again I own the first game, and have wanted since game was announced) Price: 17.98

Rock Band (Have always wanted this game ever since I bought my Xbox 360 drum kit, which I got for £9.98) Price: £15.00

Rock Band 3 (Saw it on sale on play.com, bargain I thought) Price: £12.99

Dead Rising 2 (Played Case Zero, thought this would be better) Price £15.99

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit (Like Need for Speed games, simple as that.) Price:£23.98

Shift 2 Unleashed (Again Like Need for Speed games) Price £24.99

Borrowed

Hour of Victory (Only had 2 achievements on this game, want to get more)

Rainbow Six Vegas (No achievements at all, trying to at least get 1 or 2)

Brothers in Arms Hell’s Highway (Gave up half-way through game, thought is was time to play it again)

Army of Two (Always seem to get stuck on the same level, trying to get past it)

I have now got quite a few games to play, hopefully will also get quite a few achievements from them too.

November!

I can’t believe that we are in the month of November.  This year has gone too quick, it was only 8 weeks ago that I’d just finished a course at my local Working Links Centre.  I’ve only just started getting Christmas presents in, and that’s going to be hard, still I have decided not to bother getting tins of sweets this year, which already the family is moaning about.  The year so far has been a decent year, but not a great year.  I just wonder what December will have in store for us.

It won’t be long and 2011 will be here,  I hope it will be a great year.

On another note during Halloween hardly any trick or treaters came to the door, which was very surprising.  Also Bonfire night is here Friday, so lets hope it goes without a hitch hey, and the Fire Brigade are not called out as usual.

Been a Long time Coming.

Yes it has, my next blog entry I mean.  It has been a long time hasn’t it?  I’ve been busy with things which is why I have not been using the site for a while.  What with me having to go on a course over my local Working Links, which has been a bit of a burden but I had to do it.

I’ve decided to change the theme, give it a fresh look, and I think it does just that, don’t you?  I’ve also been busy playing games on my Xbox 360.  I am hoping to reach 40,000 gamerscore before November.  It looks like I am on course to do that, but with the way things have been going in my life lately then it may change.  I am also been buying some DVD’s lately as well, I might put a list on here of the DVD’s I own, and maybe write a little review of them as well.

Anyway I have a few things to do, so I’m leaving you all.

Games I hope to buy this year

Okay I will set one thing clear.  I don’t often buy Xbox360 games straight away when they come out, mainly because I am unemployed, so I wait till the price drops, or when their is a special deal on.  So when I do get the game, usually it’s been out at least 3 or 4 months.

I’ve been waiting patiently for Bioshock 2 to come out, and now that it is out, I can read the reviews, and watch the video of the game.  I hope to have the game by the end of April.

Also I am patiently waiting for Splinter Cell Conviction, which from the E3 video, does look really good, and with a good storyline.  This is the 2nd game I would like to get this year.

The last one, I would like to buy this year, well has got be Halo: Reach.  I have played all the others, and of course with a brand new storyline, keeping the Halo story alive, will be a bonus for all Halo fans (including me).

Hopefully by the end of the year I will have these games, and you never know, maybe more.

Facebook – Do I Need it?

The short answer – No!

The long answer – I had one, for a few months.  I was trying it out, but I realised I never really accessed it very much.  Why would I need a facebook account?  To check what others are doing, or messaging friends.  If I know them I could email them, or phone them.  I did have the facebook application on my Xbox360, but I have removed it.

So in the end I decided to deactivate my facebook account.  Maybe in a few months, if I find a reason to use it, then I might reactivate it again, but at this moment, I really don’t need it.

Ukraine – England (Internet Only)

So on Saturday evening for the 1st time ever, England will be shown exclusively on the internet playing against the Ukraine.  I know that England have already qualified for the World Cup, and that their might treat it more like a friendly, but why didn’t any English TV channel pick it up?  The reason is that they didn't want to pay the asking price.  I don’t know what the price was was, but I assume it would have been a lot.

So on Saturday instead, we have to either pay to have it streamed to our computers or listen to it on BBC Radio 5 Live.  I know which one I will be doing.

To get coverage of the match you have to visit this site:- http://www.ukrainevengland.com/.  I don’t trust this site, and neither does Zone alarm Force field.  The fact also that the site only supports PayPal means that anyone who doesn’t know what PayPal is, then they cannot get access to the match if they want to watch it.

This in my view is a bad idea, Why didn’t they just put it onto the pay-per-view channels on Sky or Virgin.  They would have no doubt got triple the customers, that they will get for the internet stream.

If this becomes a success then I believe it will open the gate for more sport to be shown exclusively only on the internet.

Why are PC games cheaper than console games?

I have noticed for a while now, that PC games are far more cheaper than the console version of that game.  I just want to know why.  This has been bugging me for a long time, and now I think is the time to speak about it.  Why can’t all games be priced the same, no matter what platform they are released on.  For example, Need For Speed Shift has just been released for XBox 360, PS3, PC & PSP.

imageimage image image

On the HMV website the prices are listed as £39.99 for the XBox 360 & PS3 versions, £26.99 for the PC version & £27.99 for the PSP version.

What I want to know is why is it when I want to buy a game for my XBox 360, I notice that the PC version is always £10 or £15 cheaper.  In my view there is no change in the graphics of the game or the way the game is made, after all you make one game, and then port it to the relevant platforms, so why is it that PC games are always cheaper?

Sunny days & BBQ’s

Today was a wonderful day.  There was sunshine, a breeze and a BBQ.  You can’t get better than that on beautiful days like this can you eh?  I always think that BBQ’s are best had when their is a slight breeze in the air just to keep the temperature at a comfortable level.  Also I think that BBQ’s should be done over charcoal, nothing else.
